About the program

This is a full body muscular endurance conditioning program that utilizes dumbbells, kettlebells, sandbags, assault bikes, rowers, running, and tires. There are no barbells in this class.

The structure of the program is full body every day but has an emphasis towards upper or lower body movements from day to day. Every class will begin with a bodyweight warm up and be followed by a long circuit with 3-5 various exercises with conditioning sprinkled in.

This program is at your pace. You can go as fast or slow, heavy or light as you would like. This is perfect for people getting back into it after a long break or new people wanting to build an aerobic base before tackling more intense workouts.

Heart Rate Based Training

The Body Shop uses the MyZone heart rate monitor. We use this because we want to make sure you keep your intensity low and aerobic. MyZone calls those zones blue and green which is 60-70% and 70-80% of max heart rate respectively.

Being aware of your heart’s response to exercise and keeping it in the blue and green zones will build your aerobic base. This will in return make it easier for you to do higher intensity workouts like the few we program on the CrossFit side. Working out at lower intensities also has the added benefit of being easier to recover from allowing you to miss fewer days and get more work done.
